Control ratings - or Adequacy of Existing Controls - are used during the creation of a new risk to assess how effective your organisation believes the current controls are in managing that risk.
These ratings are not designed to be reassessed frequently, but they can be updated manually if needed via the Risk Details page.
During the creation of a new Risk in the Hazard Register, you will be asked to select Adequacy of Exisiting Controls:
Controls are the actions, processes, or safeguards that an organisation puts in place to reduce the likelihood or impact of a hazard risk.
The Adequacy (...) dropdown list allows you to rate the quality of these existing measures.
The default Control Ratings options are:
- Very Poor
- Poor
- Moderate
- Good
You can customise this list to match your organisation's terminology.
To customise the Control Ratings:
- Go to Site Setup > Safety > Hazard and Risk Register Setup.
- Scroll down to the Adequacy of Existing Controls Ratings section and click +Add.
- Enter the new adequacy level in the text box.
- Click the check icon to confirm the new entry.
The new rating will be added to the bottom of the list.
It can be rearranged using the arrows next to its name.
To edit an existing rating:
- Click on the pencil icon.
- Change the Rating's name.
