The Roster Dashboard displays personnel shifts across Duty, Standby, and Aircraft categories, and provides detailed information on each shift.
General information
The Roster Dashboard shows published personnel rostered shifts of the following Duty Categories:
- Duty
- Standby
- Aircraft
The Roster Dashboard displays shifts based on a window of time to closely follow shifts around the clock. To learn more about how this works, see: What are Roster Dashboard's viewing windows
Dashboard elements
There are seven distinct elements that make up the dashboard:
1 - Current date and time
2 - Auto-refresh 30-second countdown timer (clickable for manual refresh)
3 - Base
4 - Rosterable Department (defined in the Rostering Setup)
5 - Finished shift (denoted with a checkmark on the top-right of a shift block, when Shift End time has surpassed)
6 - Active shift (currently counting down; shows the time before Shift End)
7 - Pending shift (Shift Start time is in the future)
Shift Block elements
When zooming into a shift, it can display the below information:
1 - Duty Period Shift Code and Shift Start time (hover for more details)
2 - Personnel name
3 - First available contact number
- The order of precedence is: mobile, then alternative, then phone number
- No element is visible if neither contact number fields are populated on the personnel profile
4 - Roster Personnel Note
5 - Shift Note (hover for more details)
6 - Active shift countdown timer (time until Shift End; hover for more details)
- The countdown timer is only visible if the current time is on or within the shift’s Start Time
- A check mark is visible instead if the current time has surpassed the shift’s End Time
- No element is visible in this location if neither of the above conditions are met (i.e., the shift’s Start Time is in the future)
7 - Phone number (if present on personnel profile; hover for more details)
8 - Alternative number (if present on personnel; hover for more details)
9 - Custom Fields
Shift countdown timers
For active shifts, a countdown timer appears on the top-right corner of the containing element, showing the time left before the shift ends.
The timer also displays a colour based on pre-defined thresholds/;
- OK (green)
- WARNING (yellow)
- DANGER (red)
Each threshold has a numerical value designated to it that represents a duration in hours.
When a threshold is paired with an adjacent threshold, it acts as a boundary that shifts used to visually indicate how much time left a shift has (in hours), or how close a shift is to finishing.
Threshold | Duration in hours |
---|---|
OK | 10 |
WARNING | 6 |
DANGER | 3 |
Currently, these values are not customisable.
Example:
The shift for Zenith Rath above has a duration of 1800-2330. Based on the time the dashboard was viewed, it calculated 5 hours and 5 minutes left before the end of the shift.
Given the threshold, this time falls between WARNING and DANGER, thus displaying a yellow background.
Once an active shift is finished, the countdown timer will be replaced with a checkmark.
The order of shifts
For each base and department, the shifts are ordered according to:
- Shifts before the current day
- With a start time, the earliest shift first
- Without a start time, ordered instead by personnel name
- Shifts on the current day
- With a start time, the earliest shift first
- Without a start time, ordered instead by personnel name
- Shifts following the current day
- With a start time, the earliest shift first
- Without a start time, ordered instead by personnel name
These sets of shifts are separated by a dotted line. Shifts before and after the current day have a darker grey background colour to maintain focus on the current day.
